You invest a lot of mental, physical, and emotional energy into your career and it can leave you feeling like an empty vessel, unable to show up at home with your partner. Feeling like you’re having the same argument, that you can’t resolve, for the 100th time.  

My clients struggle as you might. Despite being compassionate, ambitious and respected helping professionals, always caring for the well-being of others, and trying to show up as the best version of themselves, life can throw curve balls . 

When partners first inquire about couples or relationship therapy, they feel disconnected from each other and stuck in the same relationship patterns they’ve found themselves for years. Partners find themselves stretched thin, realizing that it’s taking an emotional toll to be present and empathic with their significant other, after long days of helping others.

Frequently, partners wait months or even years, trying to work on their relationship on their own, or experiencing a crisis such as an affair, before reaching out for help. No matter how many podcasts, workbooks, and skills they have tried to learn, they don’t see much improvement and they question whether their relationship will survive. They find themselves feeling guilty and ashamed for having to reach out for help, viewing this as a weakness. They know something much deeper is preventing them from connecting the way they used to but have no idea what that is.

Their decreased physical and emotional affection gets in the way of the life they want to build together in so many ways. They find themselves saying they don’t want to repeat the same patterns they saw in their own caregiver’s relationships. They feel like they’re failing in the relationship and they see no way to change or re-direct the course. They feel defeated and lonley in their fight to feel important to one another.

Before considering relationships counselling, they were feeling frustrated and burning the candle at both ends. They were worried there was little hope for things to get better. The emotional distance felt unbearable and they desperately wanted to make the hurt stop.

Unlike individual therapy, relationship therapy helps you witness and experience each other in different ways, before even leaving the session.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and I work with partners who are helping professionals.

I support them in developing deep, loving, emotionally, and physically connected bonds with each other, without having to choose where to invest their emotional energy.

I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help you through navigating various challenges in relationships and exploring big life decisions. My goals is to help partners experience increased emotional connection and security in your relationships. I work with partners to help expand your ability to share vulnerably and witness your partner, yourself, and the relationship in a different way. I offer a non-judgmental and empathic approach to explore your relational dance and help you turn towards, instead of away, from each other.

Step 2: Intake

I meet with you together and individually to determine your goals and get to know you.

Step 3: Arrange frequency

I meet with you as a couple for 60- or 90- minute sessions weekly or bi-weekly.

Step 4: Experience closeness

Experience in and out of session transformations in your relationship.
