I work with couples to help them balance work & love

Couples therapy can help:

High-achieving executives and professionals who want more from their relationship

Just like your careers, relationships take work. Couples therapy is a great way to explore the patterns that keep you feeling lackluster and stuck in the same patterns of reaching out and withdrawing and work towards having more emotional and physical connection with your partner.

Couples recovering from infidelity or other emotional injuries

Finding out that an affair took place, or having been let down significantly by a partner, and deciding to work through it takes courage and commitment. Couples therapy is a space to explore past hurts and work towards building a safe and secure relationship with your partner.

Couples explore consensual non-monogamy

Whether one or both partners have been in monogamous relationships their whole lives or have past experiences with consensual non-monogamy, couples therapy is a great place to explore and get support when thinking about opening up a relationship.

College & university students form healthy relationships

Relationships are a central part of social development, especially in your early to mid 20s. Couples therapy can be particularly helpful in a number of ways such as: learning about effective communication and how to express your needs, having difficult conversations about the future, or navigating being in a long-distance relationship* while away at college.

*Please note: both partners need to be physically located in Ontario, Canada at the time of sessions.

Why exclusively couples?

I believe the most impactful way to treat relational difficulties is when both partners are in the room together. I work from an attachment-informed lens, and utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as my main modality. Diving below the surface, allows for a deeper understanding of the relational history behind each partner’s pain points to see each other in a new light and focus on what is coming alive in the room in the present moment, right in session. Partners learn to identify the pattern and how it keeps them stuck, pause to name what’s happening, and learn to engage differently with each other. I help couples celebrate seemingly small moments of emotional connection that flourish into long-lasting, deep, heart-felt connections. I work with you to create a felt emotional change in session, to disrupt the patterns that have you feeling stuck and open the conversation for important discussions.

I understand that my approach is not for everyone and I would love for you to find a therapist that fits with your idea of how change happens. If you would like help in finding a therapist, please let me know through booking a free call and I will do my best to provide you with referrals that may fit what you’re looking for. If my approach seems to resonate with you and you’re curious to learn more about EFT, you can do so here.

I offer two session lengths. The standard sessions are 60 minutes, at a rate of $220 CAD. Extended sessions are 90 minutes, at the rate of $300 CAD. I hold a few sliding-scale spots open in my schedule for college students and those in financial hardship. Please inquiry at time of meet and greet call.

I do not bill insurance directly. It is both partners’ responsibility to check your coverage with your insurance provider before starting therapy with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). OHIP does not cover psychotherapy.
